4th of July Fireworks will be held September 4th in Memory of Tony Davis

September 4 @ 8:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Frankfort VFW Post 4075 will be hosting their annual fireworks display, previously
scheduled for the July 4th holiday, on Friday, September 4, 2020.
The fireworks show was originally postponed due to COVID-19 restrictions. This rescheduled date will kick off
the Kentucky Derby and Labor Day holiday weekend. The fireworks display will take place downtown, with the
launch site being located off of Taylor Avenue and US 127. Frankfort residents will be able to view the display
from downtown Frankfort. Residents are reminded of COVID-19 safety precautions, and are encouraged to enjoy
the show from their vehicles or an outdoor location that is at least 6 feet from others. The show will begin at
approximately 8:45 PM. In the event of rain, the display will be held at the same location and time on Saturday,
September 5.
The September 4th fireworks display is being dedicated to Frankfort entrepreneur Tony Davis, owner of Kentucky
Knows coffee company, veteran and member of the Frankfort VFW Post, and avid supporter of Frankfort. The
fireworks display, named „Frankfort Knows Fireworks‟, in Davis‟ memory, will be a way to unite residents in
downtown Frankfort, a place Tony Davis loved and worked tirelessly to support.
The VFW fireworks display is graciously sponsored by Buffalo Trace Distillery, through the proceeds of the Great
Buffalo Trace 5K, held virtually this year over the July 4th weekend. Says the distillery‟s spokesperson, “Buffalo
Trace Distillery raised more than $21,000 from its virtual 19th annual Great Buffalo Chase 5k, and is thrilled to
again donate the proceeds to the Frankfort VFW Post 4075 to support the annual fireworks show. The Distillery is
also proud to honor the memory of long-time Buffalo Trace Distillery friend and supporter, Tony Davis.” The
VFW thanks Buffalo Trace for their continued support of this community event.
