The City of Frankfort is pleased to announce the official opening of its
entertainment destination center (EDC), the MIX District, in downtown Frankfort on Friday, June 25, 2021.
The EDC is a Kentucky ABC license held by the City of Frankfort that allows permitted businesses
within district boundaries to sell open container alcoholic beverages to-go. These beverages are for
consumption in the public right of ways within the district.
Named the MIX District, Frankfort’s EDC includes the entire downtown business district, from Mero
Street to Second Street, and from Wilkinson Boulevard to High Street. The MIX District encourages
residents and visitors alike to come downtown to meet with friends, interact with all that downtown has to
offer, and experience our restaurants, bars and shops. Several downtown bars and restaurants will be
participating in the district, and a full list will be announced on the city’s website prior to the June 25

the Frankfort Bourbon Society and the Bourbon on the Banks Festival, is hosting a MIX District grand
opening event from 6:00-9:30 on Friday, June 25. Entertainment for the evening will be provided by the
band SUPERFECTA, beginning at 6:30 on the City’s concert stage which will be located on Broadway.
