One by One: Private TerraHand Cob Method Workshop with Remi

August 12 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Josephine Sculpture Park, 3355 Lawrenceburg Rd.
Frankfort, KY 40601 United States
+ Google Map
$25

Explore a nature-based sustainable art practice using the cob building method with JSP Artist in Residence, Tara Remington (known as “Remi”). During this 2-hour private workshop, you will learn how to build with cob by applying the method to Remi’s sculpture, and explore Remi’s artistic practice and process. The result will be a larger-than-life-sized TerraHand interactive sculpture that overlooks a shaded forest area at Josephine Sculpture Park. One by one, you and Remi will learn and create together to build a place of rest, meditation, and healing for the Earth and community.
Please bring a mask and gloves (leather, gardening or rubber/latex work fine) to prevent the potential spread of COVID-19. This is a HANDS-ON workshop, so please wear clothes you do not mind getting muddy. You may also want to bring water, sunscreen, and insect repellant.
Tara Remington (Remi) is an American multidisciplinary artist living in Louisville KY, whose processes include public art, installation, printmaking, drawing, photography and sculpture. Her work has a focus on mindful social justice around reflecting on equality and fairness for all humanity and the conservation and preservation of our shared earth. Remi produces interactive art to engage the viewer on multiple sensory levels. Learn more at tararemington.com.
