Sir Barton And The Making Of The Triple Crown

July 5, 2019 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

$8 / $5

The Kentucky thoroughbred Sir Barton was the first horse to win the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes and Belmont Stakes – now known as the Triple Crown – in 1919, inspiring the yearly pursuit of racing glory that continues to fascinate us. For nearly a century, however, achievements by Man o’ War and other great horses of the era overshadowed those of Sir Barton.

Author Jennifer Kelly will share Sir Barton’s story. Copies of “Sir Barton and the Making of the Triple Crown” will be available for purchase and signing.

Cost: $8; KHS members $5. Price includes dessert and coffee from KHS and museum admission―so feel free to explore our exhibits the rest of the day!

Bring Your Lunch: Pay at the front desk on event day.

Pre-order a Boxed Lunch: Cost is $10 in addition to admission. Lunch orders and payment required by 5 p.m., June 28. No refunds for lunch orders canceled after that time. To order call 502-782-8118 or email [email protected].
