The West Sixth Farm is turning FOUR YEARS OLD, y’all!! Can you believe it?? Join us Saturday, June 11th for the big bash — including TWO FREE guided hikes to help you explore our 120 acre property!! Hike deetz below:
Twenty Trees Guided Hike 11 am – Wild plum, white oak, blue ash, black walnut, and redbud are just a few of the many trees found in the forests of Franklin County. Learn twenty (or so) of the most common trees and some of their unique attributes during this 1 mile hike at West 6th Farm led by forest ecologist, Heather Housman.
Nature Explorers’ Art Scavenger Hunt Hike 1 pm – Jennifer Palmer, artist and Executive Director of Woods and Waters Land Trust, will be leading this hike on the new “family-friendly” trail. Jennifer will be discussing what natural items to collect on this art and nature scavenger hunt in terms of the visual elements of line, shape, and texture. Once back at the taproom cyanotype print will be made of the collected items. Please bring a bag or a small bucket to hold the collected items.
BOTH HIKES ARE FREE AND OPEN TO ALL AGES!! We are just keeping it small – reserving a ticket ensures your spot on the hike!
