Fall Hikes in Frankfort It’s a great time to get out and enjoy the outdoors!

Cove Spring Park
There are miles of trails to enjoy a hike here. From the paved Sky Trail that overlooks the city – a great place to walk your dog – to the forested trails with their up and down routes – to the remote feel of the wetlands trails that run along the creek, it is easy to spend an afternoon enjoying nature. Only a mile from historic downtown Frankfort and lots of fall colors, make sure to get outside and hike!
Salato Wildlife Education Center
Open year round, dawn to dusk, the trails at Salato offer a variety of hikes from the accessible, 200-foot boardwalk to the hills of the Pea Ridge Loop. You can hike only a half mile on the Habitrek Trail – great for kids – or over 3.75 miles on the loops and turns of the Pea Ridge Trail. The trails offer both sun and shade.
West Sixth Farm
Located about 7 miles north of downtown Frankfort, West Sixth Farm has over 4 miles of mixed-use trails that are open year-round. The trails are used for mountain biking, trail running and hiking – and dogs on a leash are welcome to join you. The trails go through the Farms agricultural features, along a creek and through hardwood forests. It’s a great place to get away from it all!
