Witches’ Night Out 2026: Downtown Frankfort Event Guide

Calling all witches! Whether you’re Glinda the Good Witch or the Wicked Witch of the West, Samantha from Bewitched, or the Three Witches from Macbeth, dress up in your favorite “bewitching attire” and join your coven for Witches’ Night Out in Downtown Frankfort, Kentucky.

  • Date: Friday, October 9
  • Time: 6:30 PM – 10:00 PM
  • Location: Downtown Frankfort, KY (Various Checkpoints)
  • Features: Intuitive Card Readings, Live Music by Twist of Fate, retail stops, themed drinks, and local dining.

Kentucky’s Capital City will be brewing with excitement as the witches congregate at various checkpoints in Downtown Frankfort.

  • Retail:
    • Stop in if at Eden Plants & Vintage and Kentucky Flower Shop if you need more wolf bane for your bouquet, Wildwood Bookery and Poor Richard’s Books for a tome on arcane spells, or Glitterati and Bourbon Belles & Babes for some bling to accentuate that little black robe.
  • Cocktails & Bites:
    • If you crave a Bloody Mary, bars offering special libations include House of Commons, Doc Crow’s Social and Howser Tavern.
    • Restaurant Checkpoints will range from Buddy’s Pizza to Hoggy’s Ice Cream and Wicked Whisk Cake Co., as well as assorted food trucks

Witches’ Night Out is just the beginning of a spooktacular month which will feature murders most foul, zombies rising from the grave to make their way down Saint Clair, and the chance for all black cats to meet up.

1. Russ Hatter’s Murder & Mayhem Walking Tour

  • Organizer: Capital City Museum
  • Dates: October 13, 20, & 22
  • Time: 7:30 PM – 9:30 PM (2-Hour Walking Tour)
  • Details: A guided historical stroll introducing participants to Frankfort’s historical mysteries, mobs, and murders from the past two centuries.

2. The Gray Lady Tour

  • Location: Liberty Hall
  • Dates: October 10, 16, 22, 24, & 30
  • Time: 7:00 PM
  • Details: A historical ghost tour telling the story of the Gray Lady, a relative of the Brown family who died of natural causes while visiting the home and is said to appear in the upstairs bedroom window.

3. “A Treat to Die For” Interactive Play

  • Presenter: Bluegrass Mystery Theater
  • Location: Liberty Hall
  • Date: Thursday, October 22
  • Time: 7:00 PM
  • Details: An interactive Halloween-themed murder mystery play following Dapple Indulgence Emporium employees Marzi Pan and Hershel Bar.

4. Annual Black Cat Chase 3K Run

  • Location: Old Capitol Lawn
  • Date: Friday, October 23
  • Time: 7:00 PM
  • Details: A festive 3K run starting in front of the Old Capitol lawn. Runners are encouraged to wear their costumes!

5. Downtown Frankfort Zombie Walk & Thriller Parade

  • Location: Saint Clair Street, Downtown Frankfort
  • Date: Saturday, October 24
  • Schedule of Events:
    • 5:00 PM: Kids’ Trick-or-Treat at participating downtown businesses, face painting, and spooky Halloween music.
    • 6:45 PM: Zombie Parade & Dance Team performance lurching down Saint Clair Street to Michael Jackson’s Thriller.

With all that Frankfort is doing to scare you this October, by the time All Hallows Eve rolls around, you may be Tricked or Treated out and ready to stay home for a quiet evening of watching John Carpenter’s Halloween on the TV.
