The main exhibit, “A Kentucky Journey” will close temporarily beginning August 15th. However, the Hall of Governors, the Martin F. Schmidt Research Library, Old State Capitol, and the Kentucky Military History Museum will remain open as usual.

The Kentucky Historical Society operates this museum and education complex. Trace Kentucky’s 12,000- year history through more than 3,000 items in the signature exhibition, “A Kentucky Journey”. Dig for your family roots in the commonwealth’s premier genealogical research library and learn about Kentucky’s leaders in the Toyota Kentucky Hall of Governors. The Old State Capitol and Kentucky Military History Museum tours also begin here.

Hours: The Hall of Governors and A Kentucky Journey are open Tuesday- Saturday, 10am-5pm year-round, with extended hours on Thursdays until 8pm from March – December.
