Public Art Walking Tours Begin in Downtown Frankfort! Press Release

Frankfort, KY – The Frankfort / Franklin County Tourist and Convention Commission announces the launch of guided public art walking tours beginning Sept. 9, 2022. Tours will be offered every Friday at 2 pm and will run through Friday November 11. Join guide, Terry Strickland for a 60-minute guided walking tour and learn about the artists, sculptures and murals that are within the downtown area. You will be entertained and informed as you see, touch and learn about our downtown public art program. The tours are curated in collaboration with Josephine Sculpture Park and FrankArts – the Franklin County Arts Council – and are being offered as part of the Frankfort Public Art Tour.

Frankfort is the state capital of Kentucky and is on track to become the Public Art Capital of Kentucky. It is a community with a rich artistic history and diverse cultural heritage. The Frankfort Public Art Tour invites you to take a deeper look at the Capital City, to come to know its historic architecture, its stained-glass windows, its murals and sculptures, and ultimately its people.
